An opportunity is available for Records Assistants within the Wayleaves Team based at Castle Donington. Reporting into the Wayleaves Records Team Leader, the post-holder will be responsible for providing essential clerical support to the Property Team and National Grid’s Electricity Distribution (NGED) business.As a business, we need permission to install and subsequently access all our electrical equipment when it is sited on, over or under private land. Commonly, this is done through the negotiation of a contractual arrangement with the landowner and/or the occupier of the land and is called a wayleave.The Wayleaves Records Team are responsible for negotiating and recording these land rights and also payment of these agreements on behalf of NGED.You will need to have at least 4 GCSEs OR equivalent in order to apply. Our vision is to be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future and we are doing this in a fast-moving industry with an increasing focus on tackling climate change, exploring new energy sources that are renewable, low carbon, and improve efficiency to meet demand.Main ResponsibilitiesMaintaining and updating Wayleave agreement details and all associated Records SystemsGenerating Wayleave payments and dealing with payment queries.Answering queries both verbal and written from Customers, Land Owners and/or their Agents, Solicitors or any other interested party relating to company apparatus on private property.Ensuring Wayleave details are plotted and entered on NGED’s GIS Mapping System.Assisting Field Operations in resolving Wayleave issues.Negotiating one off payments with land owners to reduce the number of small annual payments.Carrying out large Estate land reviews.Maintaining Department for Energy Security & Net Zero (DESNZ) planning consents and retrieving upon request.The Ideal CandidateYou will have experience of using a wide range of IT systems, with the ability to adapt and learn new systems and processes quickly. Be highly organised with the ability to prioritise/schedule work to meet tight deadlines. You will have good attention to detail along with excellent verbal/written communication skills with the ability to take a confident and diplomatic approach with internal and external customers. Be a team player who is also able to work independently and show initiative. Have an understanding/appreciation of the activities and organisation of National Grid’s Electricity Distribution Business.National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the Company, colleagues and customers.
