Your role involves assessing and diagnosing communication difficulties using a range of tools, collaborating with families and professionals, and creating clear, person-centred care plans.You’ll deliver therapy in line with clinical pathways, offering support and guidance to parents, carers, and education staff, and promoting a collaborative approach to care. Sensitivity and empathy are key, particularly when sharing complex or difficult information.You will maintain accurate records, contribute to safeguarding procedures when necessary, and use evidence-based practice to monitor outcomes. Your responsibilities also include delivering training, supporting student placements, and contributing to service development, audits, and multidisciplinary care planning.Working flexibly across settings, you'll be expected to adapt to varying environments, manage challenging situations sensitively, and uphold professional standards while working both independently and as part of a wider team.Please see attached job description for a full list of responsibilities The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate will have:Essential:Recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent)HCPC registration and license to practiseRight to work in the UKKnowledge of assessment tools for pre-school and school-aged childrenStrong auditory discrimination and phonetic transcription skillsExperience supporting children with a range of communication needs, including speech, language, fluency, autism, and complex profilesUnderstanding of evidence-based interventions and their appropriate applicationFamiliarity with clinical governance, audit, and relevant national/local guidelinesAwareness of multi-agency working and the roles of other professionalsClear, accurate record-keeping in line with professional standardsMotivated, enthusiastic, and reflective in practiceStrong interpersonal skills: empathy, active listening, and sensitivity in challenging situationsConfident in negotiation, problem-solving, and teamworkWell-organised with effective prioritisation and time managementStrong communication and presentation skills—both verbal and writtenComfortable using IT systems, including Microsoft OfficeFull UK driving licence and access to a car for community-based workDesirableRegistered member of Royal College of Speech and Language TherapyMembership of relevant Special Interest GroupsExperience of working within a range of paediatric community settingsExperience of delivering trainingKnowledge of alternative and augmentative communication systems, both low and high techAbout The CompanyWe change lives by transforming health and care.Established in 2006, we are one of the UK's leading independent providers of community health and care services, working with health and care commissioners and communities to transform services with a focus on experience, efficiency, and improved outcomes.
