An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ecologist / EcologyConsultant with 2 years' experience to join a well-established environmental consultancy. This full-time role offers hybrid working options, salary range of £32,000 - £40,000 and benefits.
As an Ecologist / EcologyConsultant, you will be supporting a range of ecological projects, contributing to habitat and species assessments while ensuring best practice and regulatory compliance.
You will be responsible for:
- Supporting the execution of ecological surveys and mitigation planning.
- Producing clear, accurate ecological reports such as Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (PEA) and contributions to Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA).
- Assisting with project delivery in collaboration with senior ecologists and other technical staff.
- Offering ecological guidance to clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Helping to build and maintain positive relationships with clients through professionalism and technical credibility.
What we are looking for:
- Previously worked as an Ecologist, Senior Ecologist, Ecological Consultant, Ecological Surveyor or in a similar role.
- At least 2 years' professional experience in ecological consultancy.
- Possess degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Skilled in protected species and habitat surveys, with strong field skills.
- Hold membership of CIEEM or working towards it.
- Excellent technical report writing skills, following CIEEM guidelines.
- Bat and/or GCN Natural England licences would be preferred.
- Valid UK driving licence.
