Astute's Power Team are currently recruiting a Construction Manager to join the end Client on a new build Waste to Energy facility based in London. The successful candidate will be work closely with the Project Manager to successfully deliver the project on time and within budget.
The Project Construction Manager position comes with a day rate from �500.00 to �600.00 per day outside IR35.
Role responsibilities and key skills for the role:

Lead site-based construction activities for an Energy from Waste facility, ensuring compliance with programme, budget, and quality targets.

Manage and coordinate multiple contractors and disciplines across civil, mechanical, and electrical scopes specific to EfW technologies (e.g., incinerators, flue gas treatment, turbines).

Apply deep knowledge of EfW processes (e.g., thermal treatment, energy recovery, emissions systems) to oversee technical installation and sequencing.

Ensure strict adherence to UK HSE regulations, including safe handling of waste materials, confined spaces, and high-temperature equipment.

Proactively identify and resolve construction challenges unique to EfW environments, including odour control, environmental containment, and emissions compliance.

Maintain rigorous QA/QC procedures for all EfW systems, including waste bunkers, boiler houses, steam lines, and flue gas scrubbers.
*
Deliver progress reporting, risk assessments, and performance updates to senior stakeholders, with a strong focus on project delivery and client satisfaction.

Oversee commissioning preparation and handover documentation in coordination with commissioning and O&M teams, ensuring plant readiness.

Bring proven experience delivering complex EfW or waste-to-energy projects in the UK or EU, ideally within urban or highly regulated settings like London.
