About The Role
Location: Craig Y Parc School, Cardiff
Hours: 37.5 Per week
Salary £57,304 - £63,290 Per Annum
Job Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for overall curriculum management, working with the SLT to meet targets and ensure data accuracy
- Lead and manage the school’s day-to-day operations, being accountable against established KPIs
- Lead curriculum development, embracing change management positively to leverage new opportunities
- Provide strategic leadership in promoting growth and responding to government education initiatives and policies
- Prepare all necessary operational plans, liaising both internally and externally
- Ensure curriculum remains financially viable and academically successful, meeting learner needs
- Continuously improve standards of curriculum delivery and student achievement
- Develop and embed internal quality assurance systems aligned with whole-school quality standards
- Provide clear leadership and effective staff management, including recruitment, training, and development
- Deliver individual staff supervision, annual appraisals, and team meetings
- Offer performance feedback and support continuous team improvement
- Line manage a team of approximately 40 staff members
- Ensure curriculum delivery incorporates current and relevant Information & Learning Technology (ILT) practices
- Align curriculum with Estyn requirements and educational best practices
- Communicate the curriculum’s purpose and direction with enthusiasm to both internal and external audiences
- Actively promote equality and diversity throughout the curriculum
- Ensure compliance with all policies, particularly those promoting equality of opportunity
- Engage in and promote Performance Management and Professional Development activities
- Conduct sickness interviews, appraisals, and staff supervision meetings
- Undertake duties as required, appropriate to the grade and level of responsibility
- Support colleagues within and beyond the direct team where appropriate
- Uphold organisational policies and legal obligations related to equality, diversity, and fairness
- Maintain personal and collective health and safety in line with policy and training
- Engage in relevant CPD and training activities
- Promote and protect the organisation’s image when interacting with external agencies and visitors
- Respect and maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information regarding students, staff, and others
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are followed, and report concerns or incidents promptly
