Purpose of the JobThe Site Multi-Skilled Technician will ensure that the site is maintained to the required standards, working in conjunction with other team members. This role involves organizing and prioritizing workloads on a daily/weekly basis as defined by the site’s Planned Maintenance System and promptly addressing any other priority works presented by the Helpdesk.2. Context and Main IssuesThe role requires engagement with various stakeholders, including clients and suppliers, while ensuring all engineering and regulatory requirements are met.Key Responsibilities:Client Relationship Management: Regularly engage with key pharmaceutical clients to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues promptly.Supplier Relationship Management: Maintain consistent communication with suppliers to ensure service continuity.Planning: Coordinate daily operational activities and scheduled maintenance.Engineering Compliance: Ensure adherence to all technical and regulatory requirements for the site.3. Main AssignmentsThe role involves a variety of activities to ensure the smooth running of site operations:Team Collaboration: Work as part of a multi-skilled team to maintain the site according to the required standards.Planned Works: Carry out scheduled tasks as per the Helpdesk/Planner.Plumbing Duties: Attend to site plumbing issues (e.g., blockages, leaks, repairs) and complete small installation works.Legionella Checks: Conduct Legionella checks as per L8 Statutory requirements and act as a liaison to external agencies.Air Testing: Perform monthly safe air testing using FACTAIR equipment and ensure compliance with statutory regulations.Effluent Sample Collection: Collect effluent samples daily, ensuring accurate testing, proper storage, and timely delivery to laboratories.Signage Installation: Install required signage per client instructions and maintain necessary machinery and tools.Air Conditioning Filter Maintenance: Clean and replace air conditioning filters as per the Helpdesk/Planner schedule.Semi-Skilled Duties: Perform minor building works and repairs (e.g., doors, locks, ceilings, walls, roofing) as directed.Joinery Workshop: Complete training for joinery machinery and ensure proper maintenance of tools and workspace.Routine Tasks: Execute daily/weekly tasks according to schedules, reporting progress to the Lead Engineer.Reactive Works: Address reactive tasks promptly and submit completed job sheets to the Helpdesk.Compliance: Follow all risk assessments, method statements, COSHH guidelines, and GMP requirements.4. Hygiene, Health, and SafetyHealth & Safety Compliance: Adhere to all company, client, and statutory health and safety regulations, including waste management, hygiene, fire safety, and safe working practices.PPE Requirements: Wear full uniform and required PPE (safety shoes, gloves, overalls, etc.) at all times.5. AccountabilitiesCustomer Focus: Prioritize customer satisfaction, delivering consistent value in service execution.Planning & Organizing: Effectively manage and prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environment.Initiative: Take proactive steps to improve processes and service delivery.Teamwork: Collaborate with clients, in-house teams, and service partners to achieve operational goals.Communication: Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.6. Person SpecificationKnowledge, Skills, and ExperienceEssential:Positive approach to learning and identifying training needs.Strong industrial and domestic plumbing skills (must be a registered plumber).Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative.Ability to work effectively both individually and as part of a team.Flexible and adaptable approach to tasks.Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with clients, customers, and staff.Good organizational and time management skills.Ability to work under pressure.Awareness of Good Manufacturing Practices (GxP).Desirable:Experience working in a pharmaceutical environment.Additional plumbing qualifications and skills.
