We are currently looking for aTransport Planner (Maternity Cover)to join our fantastic team at Tarmac Birtley in Birtley, Chester-le-Street, Co Durham. This position is a fixed term contract for 12 months providing maternity cover. As well as Birtley and Chester-le-Street, this role is commutable from Gateshead, Newcastle upon Tyne, Consett, Durham, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Hartlepool, Darlington, South Shields, Wallsend, Longbenton and the surrounding areas.In the role ofTransport Planner you will be working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday starting at 7:30am with 1 hour lunch. Following successful completion of training you will have the option for hybrid working, meaning you can work part of your week at home.We’re working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it’s important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.Role ResponsibilityReporting to the Distribution Supervisor the role of Transport Plannerwill work with multidisciplinary teams with both internal and external stakeholders including customers, customer service, planning and haulage drivers. The role will also be responsible for:Handling of inbound and outbound callsProcess customer’s ordersRaise any safety concerns immediatelyProactively chase and inform of changesComplaint handlingEffective communication with key stakeholdersAccurate recording of dataUphold company valuesEffective management of assets and materialsSourcing and management of external assetsEffective cost managementThe Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for the role of Transport Planner will already have proven experience working in a hectic Planning role but we welcome applications from those who enjoy working in a busy, challenging customer focused environment dealing with multiple stakeholders.
