About The Role
Salary: £60,000 per annum + £3,000 car allowance
Salary increase to £65,000 per annum after successful completion of 6-month probation
Overview
As a Business Development Manager at Salutem Care and Education, you will play a key role in driving service development, marketing strategies, and public relations efforts to raise the company’s profile. You will collaborate closely with Operational Managers, Divisional Directors (Adults and Supported Living), Finance Teams, and Group Executives to expand and enhance our services.
Your primary focus will be on increasing occupancy across a diverse range of social care settings by managing the referral process from lead generation to placement. You will be responsible for building strong relationships with Local Authorities and Health Commissioning Bodies while representing Salutem’s values and standards in all interactions.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to: Group Head of Business Development
Accountability: Delivery of delegated work as outlined in the Company’s Commercial Plan and approved by the Board of Directors
- Promote Salutem Care and Education services to potential clients, carers, and professionals.
- Lead the development of new services aligned with strategic goals, based on commissioner relationships.
- Support Referral Coordinators by overseeing their workload and planning, in coordination with the Group Head of Business Development.
- Coordinate service visits for prospective purchasers and stakeholders in collaboration with operational teams.
- Take the lead in drafting and submitting bids, tenders, frameworks, and proposals for new business opportunities, with support from the Business Development Support Manager.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Team to create and contribute to marketing and PR materials for both individual services and the company.
- Represent the company at conferences and events, acting as a key point of contact and ambassador.
- Actively work to fill vacancies across existing services by leveraging current relationships and cultivating new ones.
- Collaborate with the Finance Team to ensure appropriate fees are negotiated and agreed prior to placements. Assist with commissioner negotiations concerning delayed payments where necessary.
- Support Finance in achieving inflationary fee uplifts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with existing and prospective commissioners and local authorities through direct engagement and ongoing outreach.
- Provide regular written reports to the Board, detailing potential service developments and business opportunities.
- Keep internal teams informed of new business developments and gather feedback to improve offerings.
- Partner with operational teams to review and remodel existing services, ensuring they are future-ready and aligned with market needs.
- Uphold and promote the organisation’s culture and values among internal staff, encouraging positivity through effective communication and initiatives.
- Represent Salutem to carers, external professionals, and stakeholders, acting as a key spokesperson.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date pipeline and referral data on the Salesforce system following external discussions, and ensure updates are shared with the wider team.
- Lead and coordinate bid preparation for contracts, frameworks, tenders, and other business opportunities.
