We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health (OH) Lead to join our Occupational Health and Wellbeing team.Reporting to the Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing, you will provide expert advice and guidance on health surveillance, and case management, as well as manage clinical procedures to ensure the highest standards of employee health and wellbeing.Demonstrating our corporate values, you will lead a team of OH advisors and be accountable for their performance against KPIs, development and wellbeing. The role can be based at any depot within our licence areas of East Midlands, West Midlands, South West or Wales. We offer hybrid working and travel within all of our licence areas will be needed to visit depots. Our vision is to be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future and we are doing this in a fast-moving industry with an increasing focus on tackling climate change, exploring new energy sources that are renewable, low carbon, and improve efficiency to meet demand.Main ResponsibilitiesHealth Surveillance: Develop and implement comprehensive health surveillance programs to monitor and protect employee health.Case Management: Oversee complex case management, providing expert advice and support to employees and management.Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of Occupational Health Advisors, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.Clinical Procedures: Ensure the effective delivery of clinical procedures, maintaining high standards of care and compliance with relevant regulations.Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of OH policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and legal requirements.Support with clinical development for Occupational Health advisors by facilitating case conferences, audits etc.Ensuring efficient delivery of Occupational Health Service to support the ongoing and adapting business requirements.The Ideal CandidateEffective leadership skills with the ability to develop a high performing and business-oriented team. Ability to identify and leverage individual strengths and potential within the team and create cohesion across different functional areas.You will be an exceptional communicator, with the people skills to build effective relationships at all levels of business and with external stakeholdersAbility to work independently and make informed decisions to meet business needs and aims.You’ll have well-developed collaboration skills to ensure effective cooperation between all parties.Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) with a background in Occupational Health.A minimum of a Diploma in Occupational Health, although a degree is preferred.Significant practical experience in occupational health, with a focus on health surveillance and case management.Proven experience in managing and leading a clinical team.Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation and best practices.Experience of providing OH advice in Safety critical and operational settings Experience of training, development and clinical supervision.Member of relevant professional body e.g. SOMAbility & willingness to travel across our licence areas which includes East & West Midlands, South West and South Wales and therefore a full driving licence is neededNational Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the Company, colleagues and customers.
