As Pastry Chef for Sodexo at Sevenoaks School, High street, Sevenoaks, TN13 1HU, you will oversee our pastry section, collaborating closely with our Executive Chef and Head Chef to ensure the smooth operation of our kitchen and the successful delivery of exceptional hospitality events.  In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for upholding the highest standards of food safety and compliance, particularly concerning allergen processes. The ideal candidate for this role will have a sound knowledge and passion for all things pastry, as well as previous experience working in a similar environment.Join Sodexo and be part of something greater. You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.What you'll do:Comply with statutory and company requirements.Ensure total compliance with all allergen processes.Take ownership of Pastry, with the support of the Executive and Head Chef.Assist the Executive Chef and Head Chef with the smooth running of the kitchen for hospitality functions and core catering food delivery.Monitor the cooking, chilling, and storage of foods, keeping records to ensure compliance with HACCP procedures.Liaise with the Core and Hospitality teams to ensure all production is correct and ready for service.Prepare all food carefully, particularly regarding customers’ special dietary requirements (e.g., nut, dairy, wheat allergies).Pre-empt unforeseen problems and implement solutions before they arise.Ensure all production prep and waste is managed accurately.Monitor and record temperatures of fridges, freezers, and hot cupboards/services in line with Company Regulations and the Food Safety Act.What you bring:Essential NVQ level 3 in food preparationDemonstrate experience of working in a similar role within the service industry at a comparable level in a companyAble to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standardsAnalyse problems analytically, develop opportunities and implement innovative solutionsShow ability to set standards and operate to the service standard criteria HACCP awarenessTo demonstrate a flexible attitude to working hours and promote a positive mental outlook to all aspects of work Be respectful of others at all timesThe desire and tenacity to adhere to proceduresBasic Food Hygiene and Health and Safety CertificatesDesirableProven experience of managing client relationshipsProven track record of leading, managing and developing a teamPersonal innovation and creativityTo show a hunger and passion for good food and the drive to make it achievableGood admin and telephone skillsFlexible approach to the role and be self-motivatedGood interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients and staffWhat we offer:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
