This role can be on a hybrid basis, with an expectation of being in the office around 2 days per week.Reporting to the ED3 Programme Manager and supporting the wider NGED Regulation Team to achieve an optimum outcome on price controls.The Project Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of their assigned projects within the ED3 programme, co-ordination of the projects and management of their inter-dependencies.The role requires effective co-ordination of the programme’s workstreams and management of their inter-dependencies, including oversight of any risks and issues arising.It also includes the co-ordination of the new capability the programme will deliver for the business to enable effective change and realisation of projected benefits.The project manager is responsible for the overall integrity and coherence of their projects. They will proactively contribute to the programme environment to support workstreams within it.Ownership of the desired results of assigned projects are critical. Whilst project management disciplines and tools are critical enablers, the successful candidate must feel accountable for successfully delivering the actual results of the entire programme, doing what’s needed to ensure delivery.Main ResponsibilitiesManagement- Plan, direct and ensure the successful management of assigned projects/workstreams. Negotiate changes in project resources as necessary to achieve objectives and timelines.Planning -Accountable for developing and maintaining the project plan through the various phases of the programme.Allowing Business teams to fully align around key milestones and know what is needed to deliver products across various phases of the RIIO-ED3 programme.Reporting – Provide timely and accurate reporting to enable tracking of the ED3 programme, monitor progress against performance measures and provide headlines that flag concern/action.Business engagement - Build effective relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure delivery of key activities, through liaison with the rest of the functional groups and the business - facilitating planning, prioritisation, and collaboration between groups.Governance - Ensure effective project governance through the running of the established RIIO-ED3 governance (agenda, actions, content, and risk) and contribute to the timely production of Executive materials.Processes - Develop controls that align ways-of-working that ensure what teams are doing is efficient, effective, consistent and meets good internal practice (for example, change control).Capable of developing and communicating project management standards and best practices, providing technical assistance in identifying, evaluating and developing methods and procedures that are efficient, effective and meet good business practice.Risk and assurance - Lead on controls that report key programme risks, and assurance documentation that proves what we are doing is fully compliant with internal standards.Foster a collaborative approach across teams and facilitate conflict resolution.Escalate risks and issues appropriately to the Programme Manager in a timely fashion, putting forward options and recommendations for consideration.Undertake additional ad hoc work as and when required to meet the needs of the team and wider business.Provide support to the wider Regulatory team, as required.Candidate RequirementsYou will have regulatory understanding of the electricity energy sector, regulatory environment and the short and long-term issues affecting the industry. With a broad knowledge and awareness of the Electricity Distribution Business.You’ll be able to demonstrate a high standard of project management skills with experience running a Programme Management Office (PMO), including project budgeting, proven project management abilities and the capacity to organise and prioritise multiple complex projects.You’ll have experience of being responsible for managing significant amounts of information; tracking development of submission products and delivery to Ofgem. Effective stakeholder management is required, with experience communicating and influencing internal stakeholders and the ability to build positive relationships.You’ll be a collaborative team player, able to quickly establish effective partnerships across the business and foster a strong team culture within a matrixed organisation. We are looking for someone who is professional, organised, highly detail-oriented and capable of working independently, as well as with large virtual teams, delivering results at pace while maintaining high-quality outputs. You’ll be proficient in communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate key priorities in a balanced and thoughtful manner.With experience in financial management, particularly in the management and monitoring of third-party spend.You’ll have strong team management skills with the ability to promote team effectiveness by listening to input from team members, encouraging collaboration and sharing knowledge to drive success.Travel to other locations on an occasional basis forms part of the role and therefore holding a UK driving licence is beneficial.
