Job Title: Senior Social Worker Location: North or Mid Essex Band: �31.32 per hour Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm Contract Duration: 3-6 months ongoing Start Date: ASAP - 4 weeks

Role Summary: The postholder will use exemplary social work knowledge and practice to raise the profile and understanding of social work practice across EPUT in conjunction with the current work being undertaken by the Social Care Leadership Team. This includes Think Ahead and Social Work for Better Mental Health. You will work in a variety of settings and service development opportunities within operational services. Key duties involve supporting the understanding and knowledge of social work and collaborating with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians, and other practitioners in delivering services.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a proactive system leader within operational services, raising statutory and legal knowledge across multiagency/disciplinary practice.
Undertake person-centred work focusing on individuals' strengths and interests in accordance with the Care Act.
Promote and maximise independence, looking at networks, local community, and personal resources.
Manage risk with service users/families and communities.
Participate as an AMHP on the rota.
Travel across Essex and outside of Essex for assessments and meetings.
Maintain good working relationships with external partners.

Core Clinical Support:

Undertake holistic risk assessments and develop risk management plans.
Act as a lead for the team in areas of social care (e.g., self-directed support, Mental Health Act, safeguarding).
Manage care, plan, support, and review care needs in line with policy and legislation.
Co-ordinate the Mental Health Act Assessment process and liaise with other professionals.
Lead therapeutic relationships with service users, families, and carers while balancing strength-based approaches with the need to manage risks.

What You'll Be Doing:

Engaging with service users, carers, and professionals to assess and deliver care in accordance with statutory duties.
Leading on operational aspects of social work within a multi-disciplinary environment.

Requirements & Qualifications:

AMHP qualification required.
In-depth knowledge of social care legislation, particularly the Care Act, Mental Health Act, and associated frameworks.
Experience in social work and mental health assessments.
Ability to manage complex cases, risks, and interventions.

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
3-6 months ongoing
