The Role
We are currently recruiting for a mechanically biased fitter to join the existing team, carrying out light maintenance and repairs on rolling stock. In this role as a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for performing fault finding and diagnostics predominantly across mechanical systems and some support on electrical systems. Your day-to-day tasks will involve carrying out light maintenance and repairs, including the replacement of driver seats, window wipers, windscreens, lights, headlamps, air hoses, braking systems, and pneumatics.
You will also be conducting service exams and routine fleet maintenance, ensuring all work meets safety and industry standards.
Additionally, you will work closely with trainers and team members, gaining support to further develop and enhance your skills in key areas of maintenance and diagnostics.

Training modules are associated with renumerations of up to �1500 per module

About You

This opportunity is ideal for individuals with a strong mechanical background, particularly those with experience in heavy machinery or vehicles backgrounds e.g. rolling stock, HGVs, plant, or aerospace industries. A solid understanding of pneumatics, braking systems, and hydraulics is essential, along with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
As this role is based in a highly safety-critical environment, all candidates will be required to complete pre-employment checks, including a medical assessment and drug & alcohol screening and DBS.
