Reporting into the Street Works Policy Manager and showcasing your in-depth knowledge of the streets works legislation, you will act as a focal point for guidance for the team.You will maintain the highest levels of professionalism and customer service and be flexible and willing to ensure the team provide the services needed to support the operational business.As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. Our vision is to be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future and we are doing this in a fast-moving industry with an increasing focus on tackling climate change, exploring new energy sources that are renewable, low carbon, and improve efficiency to meet demand.Main ResponsibilitiesDay to day management of the Street Works team to ensure all their main duties and responsibilities are observed providing a professional administration support service to the operational business.Under the direction and guidance of the Street Works Policy Manager manage the quality and productivity of the Street Works team; setting targets, monitoring own and team’s performance with regular performance reviews; ensuring high standards of work and developing and coaching staff as needed.Manage the team with regard sickness, hybrid working and annual leave requests to ensure smooth running of the team.Ensure all street works charges are recorded, processed and recharged promptly by the team.Provide expert guidance on street works matters within the team, the wider business and externally as required.Work with the Street Works Policy Manager and with the other Street Works Team Leaders to continually improve working methods and processes, including system or legislative changes.Provide timely and accurate reporting around the street works performance of the operational business and contractors.Represent the street works team at internal meetings, either virtually or in person, across the businessRepresent the business at external meetings and events with Highway Authorities and other stakeholders, either virtually or in person.Working with the Street Works Policy Manager, prepare and deliver training and briefings to the Street Works team and the operational business, either virtually or in personAssist, where needed, in more complex work activities and play an active part in ensuring queries are resolved quickly and professionally.Providing cover for the Street Works Policy Manager when required.Be prepared to travel to internal and external venues to meet with stakeholders as required.The Ideal CandidateThe ideal candidate for this role will have experience of working within the Street Works environment and have an in-depth knowledge of street works legislation and systems relevant to geographical location within England/Wales.
