Applications are invited from suitably committed and experienced senior Social Workers or Mental Health Nurses to join the Children in Need Integrated Service as MDT Crisis Response & Complex Needs Coordinator on the beautiful Island of Guernsey , in the Channel Islands.
This role is critical in coordinating and managing crisis situations effectively and ensuring individuals and families are supported in navigating their challenges, in addition to working alongside associated professionals to coordinate proportionate resources and support and wherever possible and where safe to do so, prevent children and young people coming into the care of the HSC Committee.
Reporting to the Team Manager you will;
- work alongside C&FCS Senior & Team managers to plan and coordinate as a priority, crisis response meetings (chaired by a C&FCS Senior Manager) and coordinate multi-agency services to support children & young people (CYP) aged 0-18 years who present with higher level complex needs, acute medical needs at L3 / L4 on the Continuum of Need threshold and / or Children on the Edge of Care and at risk of family breakdown.
- be integral to the multi-agency team's effort to reduce risks, safeguard children & young people, improve outcomes and provide timely support for those with the highest level of need.
The Children in Need Team is responsible for undertaking assessments of children and families, developing intervention plans for children in need and supporting children, young people, and their families to achieve positive outcomes including those children subject of Care Requirements in accordance with the Children (Guernsey and Alderney) Law 2008. The Law has introduced fundamental and significant changes to how concerns relating to children and young people are dealt with and is based broadly on the Children's Hearing System in Scotland.

Person requirements:
- Qualified Social Worker or Mental Health Nurse with current full UK statutory registration
- Current or recent post-registration UK experience of working within and understanding of Childrens Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
- Proven experience of working within and understanding of Childrens Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.
- Strong understanding of attachment theory & the impact of developmental trauma and facilitation of evidence-based interventions in practice.
- Strong crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills.
- Be in possession of a clean and current car driving licence; own vehicle required, (mileage expensed at full rate)
