Healthy outcomes start with positive patient experiences.As a Decontamination & Water Hygiene Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operational activities of Sodexo Healthcare, Hard FM Estates Department within the guidelines and objectives agreed with the Head of Estates Manager. Provide management and supervision of the estates engineers and specialist contract staff whilst carrying out maintenance activities and where appropriate, manage new work projects within the PFI’s.What you’ll do: Oversee day-to-day decontamination and water hygiene tasks and teams at RSUH and Haywood PFI sites.Lead AP for fault diagnosis, repair, and testing of medical devices like sterilizers, washer disinfectors, and endoscope re-processors, ensuring compliance with HTM 01-01, HTM 01-06 & BS EN 16442.Serve as lead RP for Water to ensure compliance with HTM 04-01 and L8 regulations.Organize and manage quarterly and annual audits for water hygiene and legionella prevention.Review daily, weekly, quarterly, and yearly validation test results for decontamination, adhering to current guidance and AE recommendations.Manage planned maintenance for medical devices, following manufacturers' recommendations.Interpret water quality results (chemical and microbiological) and take necessary actions in line with Trust policy and Water Safety Plan.Ensure compliance with the Project Agreement, legislative, statutory, and HTM requirements; support Senior Management in lifecycle and maintenance plans.Oversee the commercial and quality management of the contract, ensuring compliance and avoiding penalties, while monitoring performance and budgets.Manage a team ensuring safe operation of plant and equipment, supervise craft staff, conduct appraisals, and maintain a safe working environment.What you bring: Time-served electrical apprenticeship with extensive multi-skilled maintenance experience in electrical and mechanical trades.HNC/HND in engineering with prior decontamination and water hygiene experience.Ability to interpret validation reports for medical devices and apply knowledge to maintenance tasks.Proven supervisory or management experience in engineering, with a broad range of technical skills at a supervisory level.Prepared to work on a standby rota and attend relevant internal and external courses.Strong understanding of Health and Safety regulations, including Pressure Systems, COSHH, Water Fittings Regulations, and Medical Gas.Proficient in report writing, computer literacy (preferably with Building Management Systems knowledge), and strong verbal, written, and mathematical communication skills.Self-motivated, adaptable, problem-solving, and capable of remaining confident and logical under pressure, with a strong sense of urgency.Experience in electrical engineering maintenance and healthcare settings, including water hygiene RP/deputy RP and decontamination AP experience. (desirable)Experience working with multi-discipline trade groups and specialized knowledge of healthcare environments.
