Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with one of the international leaders supporting in the nuclear energy sector to recruit a Health Safety and Environmental Advisor for its site operations on Hinkley Point C.
The rewarding HSE Advisor role comes with a salary of up to �50,000 per annum, with the opportunity to join some of the leading work currently on-going at Hinkley Point C.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Head of QHSE you will:
* Ensure health, safety and environmental compliance of all operations across the company site work at Hinkley Point C.
* Develop, maintain, and continuously improve HSE management processes and procedures.
* Implement management system requirements across sites, ensuring compliance.
* Track actions and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), ensuring timely resolution.
* Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and maintain accurate documentation.
* Create clear, user-friendly materials to communicate HSE requirements.
* Monitor and drive compliance with Performance Standards and Health & Safety Performance Indicators (HSPI) across projects.
* Conduct on-site verification checks against life-saving rules, client standards, HSE plans, and risk assessments (RAMS).
* Provide expert HSE advice based on relevant legislation, Approved Codes of Practice (ACoPs), and British Standards.
* Mentor and support site supervision in understanding HSE roles, responsibilities, and best practices.
* Assist in developing and delivering internal training programs and awareness initiatives.
* Enhance communication through noticeboards, meetings, and working groups.
* Support the development and implementation of a behavioural-based safety model aligned with company values and HSE standards.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* NEBOSH General Certificate or IOSH Working Safety certificate
* IRCA Internal Auditor qualification and experience is desirable
* Experience in highly regulated industries. Experience of Nuclear industry is highly desirable.
Personal skills
The QHSE Advisor role would suit someone who has:
* Workplace experience (mechanical or fabrication background is advantageous)
* Excellent team working skills.
* The ability to work with minimum supervision and intervention.
* Ability to work in a team as well as on own initiative with a can -do attitude.
* Ability to take responsibility for problems within their own remit and to deliver solutions.
* Results focused with the ability to meet commitments and deadlines.
Salary and benefits of the HSE Advisor role
* �50,000 per annum,
* 25 days annual leave per year raising to 30 (1 day for every 2 years’ service)
