We currently have a full-time vacancy in our Commercial Services Team and are looking for a part time enforcement officer with appropriate food hygiene qualifications and experience to back fill the role initially until the end of May and potentially for longer.
Candidates for this role would need to hold either: A Higher or Advanced Certificate in Food Premises Inspection awarded by the Environmental Health Registration Board; or A degree (BSc) / postgraduate (MSc) qualification in Environmental Health or equivalent. You should also be in possession of suitable CPD (20 hours annually) including at least 10 hours annually re Regulatory Food Safety Inspections.
We currently have between 60 and 100 food businesses requiring inspection by the end of March 2025 in addition to those allocated to existing full time staff. The premises are predominantly Cat Ds and a smaller number of Category C’s. You will produce an inspection report and issue risk ratings. In some instances, you may be required to issue a longer report and letter and an additional hourly rate payment would be made for this. The work programme is flexible so you can fit around other commitments. If you are interested, we will need evidence of your competency to include: CV, qualifications, CPD record and ideally a completed competency assessment document.
