As a Military Stores Clerk at Merville Barracks, Circular Road South, Colchester, your role is pivotal to ensuring the smooth and effective operation of our facilities management. You will play a crucial part in supporting our team and delivering the best possible service to both our colleagues and clients. This key position ensures that our day-to-day operations continue without interruption, and your contribution is essential to our success.What You'll do:Provide immediate clerical support to the Supply Manager and wider Department personnel.Use the Authority’s IT system (MODNET) for processing orders and maintaining records.Amend and file authoritative publications.Control and manage the Unit Stationery account.Take receipt, package, and distribute official mail.Serve as the point of contact for reporting priority faults in a timely manner.Process course applications for authorized personnel.Ensure that all Supply Chain and Safety, Health, Environmental & Fire auditable documentation is maintained and prepared for audit.Responsible for recording and reporting accidents/incidents to the casualty notification cell.Provide business continuity support in the absence of the Supply Manager and wider Department team.Produce sensitive written work on behalf of the Supply Manager.Monitor medical supplies and equipment to ensure they are within their expiration or usable shelf life.Place timely orders via Management of Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) / Contract, Purchasing, and Finance (CP&F) systems for replacements when needed.Coordinate with suppliers and logistics teams to ensure timely deliveries of required items.Maintain accurate records of inventory levels for medical items.Conduct monthly assurance checks on medical AinU’s.Carry out any other reasonable tasks as directed by the Supply Manager.This role requires Security Check (SC) Clearance – secured after successful interviewWhat you bring:IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office and inventory management systemsExperience working in a similar inventory or stock control roleExcellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Ability to communicate with military personnel of all ranks.What we offer:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
