What You'll Be Doing:
Join our team as a occupational therapist. In this role, you will

* Initial Assessment: An OT reviews incoming referrals (usually from physicians, specialists, or other healthcare professionals) to assess the urgency and necessity of occupational therapy intervention.
Prioritization: Based on factors like the severity of the condition, level of functional impairment, and the expected outcome of therapy, the OT determines which patients should be seen first. For example, a patient with a life-threatening or rapidly deteriorating condition might be prioritized over someone with a chronic but stable issue.
Identifying Appropriate Interventions: The OT assesses whether the referred issue falls within their scope of practice and determines if therapy would benefit the patient in terms of improving daily functional tasks, independence, and overall quality of life.
Screening and Evaluation: In some cases, the OT may conduct initial screenings to gather more information about the patient's needs and refine the decision on whether they require OT services or if other healthcare services are more appropriate.
Referral to Other Services: If an OT determines that a patient would benefit from services outside their specialty, they can facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals or departments, ensuring holistic care.

Requirements & Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, you will need:

- a current and valid HCPC registration
- experience working within a discharge team
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- the ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care

Working Hours & Contract Duration:
This role offers a flexible working position requires availability from [Days of Work] with flexibility where possible. The contract has a strong possibility of extension based on performance and service needs.
