If so we have a unique and exciting development opportunity for you to join our 0-19 Service, as a Staff Nurse onto our development programme. This role will support you to acquire public health skills and experience as you then move onto the Specialist Community Public Health Nursing (SCPHN) Programme offered at Leeds Beckett University and on successful completion of the course, you may be able to apply for and progress your career as either a Band 6 health visitor or school nurse within our Service.You'll need to be:• a good team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills• able to work effectively with service users and other professionals.• committed to undertaking the SCPHN course• meet the university entrance requirements - DipHE (or above) or evidence of previous learning to this level.Core business hours are 8.30 to 5 - Monday to Friday. A typical working week could include: supporting families with children who have complex needs; managing health needs assessments and attending review meetings for children looked after; transfer into area visits; triaging A&E attendances and offering follow up support to families; providing medical conditions training to schools and on a 1:1 basis with parents; offering short term packages of care to families/young people requiring specific support; signposting to other key services and completing referrals as appropriate.
