You will play a vital role in ensuring the safe operation and maintenance of all plant and electrical equipment within the hospital site. You belong in a team where you can act with purpose and thrive in your own way.Main ResponsibilitiesWhat you'll do:Ensure compliance with HTM06 – Healthcare Electrical Safety Code System as an Authorised Person (LV).Work safely in hazardous environments, preventing danger and avoiding injury or damage to equipment.Provide technical support and liaise with electrical contractors for maintenance tasks, capital projects, and minor upgrades.Engage with manufacturers to resolve plant or equipment failures, arranging supply contracts when necessary.Carry Sodexo/Trust communication devices for immediate response to emergencies.Conduct minor installation and improvement works.Source suppliers/wholesalers and assess costs and delivery times in line with Sodexo procurement procedures.Requisition necessary tools and equipment for work completion.Monitor health & safety compliance across all personnel on-site, ensuring adherence to Sodexo and Trust policies.Work flexibly, including emergency cover as required (24/7 availability).Maintain accurate records using Sodexo’s CAFM system for work processing and estates maintenance tracking.Perform fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance on electrical distribution, lighting, fire detection, HVAC, security, CCTV, and nurse call systems.Engage effectively with clients, helpdesk, contractors, and hospital staff to ensure smooth operational services.For a full list of responsibilities please view the attached job descriptionThe Ideal CandidateWhat you bringEssential:Completion of a structured training program (Apprenticeship) in Electrical Engineering.City & Guilds Qualifications in an Electrical Engineering discipline.Experience in a maintenance environment, ideally within healthcare settings.Strong knowledge of electrical plant, systems, and statutory PPM compliance.Excellent problem-solving and fault-finding skills.Desirable:ONC or equivalent electrical qualification.Previous experience in an Acute Hospital environment.IT knowledge and experience.Authorised Person (Electrical) status.Skills & Personal AttributesAbility to work independently and take initiative.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Commitment to ongoing professional development and training.Ability to work flexibly and adapt to service demands.Proactive approach to health & safety compliance.Excellent customer service and teamwork skills.What we offer£46,160pa + excellent benefitsWorking with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.
