ATA are working closely with a world-leading manufacturer with presence in more than 60 countries, serving industries such as aerospace, automotive, food processing, and medical device manufacturing. Part of a group of business which turnover excess of �100 million per year the UK subsidiary has seen record growth over the years reaching �30 million in 2024, they are looking to strengthen their client and product portfolio as well as adding key appointments throughout the business in the UK. Currently employing 150 staff with various disciplines they are looking to add a Mechanical Design Engineer to their dynamic engineering team, boasting a talented and friendly culture you will have the opportunity of working with a supportive and collaborative team for a business that values their employees.
Role Description and Responsibilities:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative design solutions for their products. This role involves working closely with the product development team to create functional and cost-effective designs that meet user needs and industry standards. Key responsibilities include:
* Leading and being involved in the initial concept, design, development, and management of projects for a range of products.
* Organizing and effectively managing projects.
* Introducing and supporting current product improvements.
* Providing technical support to all internal and external customers.
* Conducting research on user experience, market trends, and functionality.
* Developing design solutions that are user-friendly, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly.
* Creating multiple iterations of design prototypes using CAD software.
* Conducting usability tests and modifying designs based on feedback.
* Ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Documenting the design process and presenting progress reports to stakeholders.
Candidate Requirements and Qualifications:
For the Mechanical Design Engineer role, you will require:
* A Mechanical Engineering qualification.
* Proven experience as a Design Engineer or similar role.
* Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor).
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
