Astute’s Power team is partnering with a large-scale European Engineering and Construction company to recruit as Health and Safety Lead through the night shift to oversee the Mechanical works on a 4-5 month contract for its Scotland site.
The Mechanical Supervisor role comes with a competitve rate per day.
Key skills:
* Act as the primary health and safety point of contact during the mechanical phase of the project during the night shift, ensuring alignment with the project's overall safety objectives.
* Ensure all site activities comply with relevant legislation (e.g., CDM Regulations, HSE standards) and company policies.
* Oversee and review risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and permit-to-work systems, particularly for high-risk activities such as lifting operations, confined spaces, and hot works.
* Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and reviews to identify potential hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented effectively.
* Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and implementing measures to prevent recurrence.
* Work collaboratively with project managers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure safety is prioritized and integrated into project planning and execution.
* Maintain accurate records of safety activities, including inspection reports, incident investigations, and training logs.
