Saga is keen to appoint an experienced finance systems / change management - Project Manager. You will be key to delivering on a major business transformation project for Saga across all our business units in finance. We are fast approaching our “Go Live” phase of this major project. You will join us at capability and testing stage.

Initially the contract will be for 9 months to start with. However, this could lead to an extension given the scope of the project and other future plans across the business.

You will be reporting to the Head of Finance Transformation in our group function working across a finance team of 120 plus colleagues. This project will be groundbreaking for a business like ours. You could be a key part to help us transform and align all our finance processes, a significant project to have on your CV!

We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. When you do come into the office, it’ll be with a real purpose in mind – to meet with your team, to work together, and of course to socialise and celebrate too!  We typically meet one a week in this team.

Main Responsibilities
To provide strong technical system guidance to the team; Workday.
Working collaboratively with the business stakeholders to scope and understand requirements for technical change.
Be seen as the face of the project across Saga’s business units (Insurance, Travel, Cruise, Money, Group).
Ensure our Workday application and Finance Systems team are aligned with best practice and policy to ensure quality deliverables.
Support in the provision of estimates and project planning. Facilitating regular planning and supporting the team to plan and estimate the project tasks and delivery dates for the Workday Project
Troubleshooting and monitoring our instance of Workday Financials and work collaboratively with the team to resolve and prevent any defects, risks, or issues, whilst keeping key stakeholders updated with progression.
Be a key contributor to identifying risks, understanding the impact, and liaising with Finance, the business and technology teams to put robust controls in place.
Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
Providing support to the Finance Systems Manager and Head of Finance Transformation on all other matters as required.

The Ideal CandidateYou will have gained previous experience as a PM in change management, finance systems, technology transformation or business transitions. Ideally you will have a good understanding of a large corporate business model and be able to pick up the project management of an ongoing project at this level. Demonstrating successful project completion. You will also need to have the following skills and experience;


Experience with delivering new systems / platforms projects, ideally financial systems such as Workday.
Proven experience of managing cross functional stakeholders and change management from a technical perspective.
Can demonstrate excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Has gained previous experienced using project management tools, ideally Jira.
Able to cope in a pressurised environment working to tight deadlines.
Can demonstrate and an eye for detail and an analytical mind.
Excellent personal effectiveness and time management skills, such as task and diary management, work and project planning, file and record keeping (physical and electronic)
Be seen as a credible PM, able to quickly establish credibility, winning the respect and co-operation of colleagues at all levels.
High integrity and objectivity capable of selling ideas and implementing change.
Analytically strong with the ability to challenge and think outside the box.
Possess an inquisitive mind and be able to identify anomalies or inconsistencies and pursue these through to a resolution.


Desirable;


Hold a Project Management qualification or equivalent. 
Experienced in project methodologies – such as agile.
