This exciting new role provides an opportunity for a clinically registered professional (qualified nurse or allied health profession) with experience working in Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to support the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (WYICB - Leeds Place) to meet the statutory duties of the Children and Families Act (2014) and the SEND Code of Practice (2014) for children and young people aged 0 – 25 years who have SEND.We are looking for a confident and forward-thinking person to lead and co-ordinate the contribution of high quality and timely health advice to Education Health and Care Plans (ECHPs), oversee the review and monitoring of EHCPs and to promote the role of health in SEND, this will include guidance and support in relation to Initial Assessments, Annual Reviews, multi-agency panels and Quality Assurance.This is a senior post that will support the work of NHS West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board (Leeds place) to improve the lives of children, young people who have special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), and their families and carers.The successful candidate will work closely with system partners across health, education, local authorities and children and young people with SEND and their parents / carers.For more information about this role contact:Designated Clinical Officer for SEND (DCO-SEND)Sally Townends.townend1@nhs.netMobile: 07540100944This post holder will lead and co-ordinate health services contribution to the Education Health and Care Assessment and Review process.
