As a Vessel Traffic Services Officer, you will ensure the safety of navigation and protect the environment within the limits of the Port of Dover following the Port Marine Safety Code. You will actively monitor and regulate all vessel movements, coordinating closely with ship masters and pilots. Additionally, you will allocate berths to arriving vessels, manage their manoeuvring, and assist with unscheduled arrivals, fulfilling a vital role in maintaining seamless port operations.
Hours of Work: The Port operates 365 days a year, and you will work a shift pattern of days and nights, averaging 42 hours a week.
Vessel Traffic Services Officer Requirements:
* GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths Grade 4 or above
* Degree level education or proven experience in operational management and planning
* Ability to achieve a CO103/1 certificate
* Previous experience within VTS or a comparable industry, or as an Officer of the Watch as defined by STCW
* Proficiency in MS Office with strong analytical skills
