Exciting plans, Saga Cruises are looking for an accomplished Hotel Superintendent for our 2 boutique ships; Spirit of Adventure and Spirt of Discovery. Here at Saga, you will have full responsibility of our 2 luxury ocean vessels plus a realistic budget, to be able to do your job well.
You will be key to ensuring the ongoing high standard of appearance, upkeep and through life management of internal and external Guest Areas, Entertainment Spaces, including Guest/ Crew Cabins and Crew Recreation areas.
What can you expect in your first few months of joining us?
Well, there is so much happening at Saga Cruises. Our work in the Hotel Op’s team comes from our brands high expectations. We have a full restaurant refurbishment based around a new cuisine as part of an up-and-coming UK based dry dock. So, you will get your chance to make a true difference early on in your new role.
You’ll play a key role in supporting the Head of Hotel Operations and the Hotel Operations Director to continually deliver a first-class hotel operation to our Guests.
You will also be responsible as the contract manager of product and Guest facing servicing agreements and supplier relationships. Additionally, will be the lead contact to oversee that the Ships team are effectively managing the onboard Hotel maintenance system, including catering, ensuring that equipment is maintained, with any necessary parts are ordered.
We work in a hybrid way at Saga both at home and in the office. The nature of responsibility with this role means you will need to be flexible and able to travel overseas when necessary.

Main Responsibilities
Provide world class facilities maintenance support working closely with the on-board teams and Technical Managers ashore
Provide expertise and guidance, viable solutions and corrective actions to address issues on-board
Planning, preparation, coordination and project management for ship Guest & Crew facing areas for refits (dry and wet docks) within the Hotel and Crew areas.
Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to maximise the reliability and longevity of hotel systems and equipment.
Maintain a 5-year Asset Management Plan across the Spirit fleet to be based on data and support for future strategy planning of facilities
New Hotel concept designs and future proofing of front of house areas
Project management of all works completed on-board from initiation to final evaluation post project
Oversee the Hotel maintenance system giving support to the ships teams and guiding where necessary and to provide constant updates on reported hotel deficiencies, damages and non-conformities to shoreside management
The Ideal CandidateYou will have previously worked as a Hotel Superintendent – coming from Hospitality, Lavish Hotel settings, Cruise Ships or Yachts or even Hotel Refurbishment. You will understand our guests and their level of expectations for comfort, luxury and visual surroundings onboard. You will also be able to demonstrate the following skills and experience;
A talented and credible senior manager
Has previous experience of FF&E management (Furniture / Fixtures & Equipment)
Can demonstrate success when delivering projects on time and within budget
Has strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
Commercially aware with excellent communication and negotiation skills
IT proficiency across MS word, excel and PowerPoint (ShipSure skills preferable)
Able to lead and influence a diverse and remote workforce
Flexibility to travel as required
Desirable;
Previously worked in the cruise industry, either on or offshore
Strong knowledge of SOLAS, Flag and Class requirements
Knowledge of vessel construction such as VSP (USPHS) – preferred
