We are seeking a Senior Physiotherapist to join our dedicated team, delivering high-quality, evidence-based care to children and young people across Surrey.

In this role, you will assess and address complex physical needs, supporting optimal development, function, and participation through tailored interventions and collaborative working.

You’ll work closely with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop individualised goals and provide holistic care that empowers children to thrive.

Main ResponsibilitiesPlanning and Organisational Duties:


Manage and prioritise your own caseload independently.
Contribute to departmental development, meeting performance targets, and delivering training programs.
Provide supervision and line management to junior team members, including Band 5 Physiotherapists and Assistants.
Act as deputy for senior team members when needed.


Patient Care Responsibilities:


Autonomously manage a diverse and often complex caseload, providing assessment, diagnosis, and evidence-based interventions.
Collaborate with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement tailored treatment plans.
Offer specialist advice to health, social care, education, and voluntary services, including home and school visits.
Train and support patients, families, and carers in the use of specialist equipment and orthotics.
Prioritise treatment goals for children with complex needs, including terminal illnesses, and plan for therapy blocks, discharge, and onward referrals.
Work flexibly to ensure equitable service delivery across the geographic area, covering for team absences as needed.
Develop skills in managing MSK and complex disorders under senior mentorship.
Ensure compliance with safeguarding policies, incident reporting, and mandatory training.
Prepare clear, standardised reports for EHCPs, reviews, and tribunals as required.

The Ideal CandidateEssential


Diploma/Degree in Physiotherapy
Registered and compliant with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)
Evidence of Post graduate training/or equivalent experience relevant to speciality such as:

Child Development
Bobath Techniques
Specialist courses/ study on conditions that affect child development, MSK, neurodevelopmental conditions


Demonstrable post registration experience with some experience of working with children or in neurology.


Desirable


Member of Association of Paediatric Chartered Physiotherapists (APCP)
Membership of Special Interest Group
Clinical Educators qualification
Working in a community setting delivering children’s Physiotherapy services.
Demonstrable experience of working in the NHS
