Responsibilities and Duties
Reporting to the Head of Fleet, you will:
* Lead daily transport operations, ensuring all vehicles, associated assets, and movements are managed and optimised for efficiency.
* Ensure compliance with policies, risk assessments, safety protocols, and industry regulations.
* Drive a culture of health, safety, and environmental compliance across all operations.
* Ensure smooth communication and alignment across teams and with senior management.
* Coordinate and optimise the movement of feedstock, biofertiliser, and intra-company products.
* Oversee maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and maintain fleet reliability.
* Identify and implement improvements to enhance safety, compliance, and environmental impact.
* Collaborate with internal departments to enhance operational efficiency and regulatory compliance.
* Lead, motivate, and develop a team of drivers and administrative staff.
* Prepare budgets, forecasts, and reports, ensuring financial and operational targets are achieved.
* Foster relationships with regulatory bodies, suppliers, and key customers.
* Act as a named competent person on the company’s Operator License, adhering to Traffic Commissioner requirements.
* Manage budgets effectively to optimise revenue and reduce costs, including minimising third-party haulage fees.
Professional Qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Management or 3-5 years operational experience (
* Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
* Full UK Driving License (C+E license desirable).
