Astute’s Renewables team is partnering with a leading innovator in renewable energy production, specialising in biogas plants, to recruit a Site Leader for their site in Moray

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Head of Operations you will:
* P&L Responsibility: Ensure financial targets are met through effective cost management, strategic planning, and budget oversight.
* Compliance: Ensure adherence to legal, regulatory, and industry standards (COMAH, OFGEM, ISO, etc)
* Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of 10+ people, fostering a culture of safety, high performance, and continuous improvement.
* Operational Excellence: Drive improvements through data analysis, trend identification, and corrective action where necessary.
* Stakeholder Management: Act as the key point of contact for third-party authorities and governing bodies
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Educated to a degree level in a relevant engineering/science discipline or fully demonstrate equivalent experience
* Full UK Driving license
* NEBOSH (preferred)
Personal skills
The Site Leader role would suit someone who has:
* At least 20 years’ experience within a related operation, with a minimum of 5 years working at senior leadership level
* Previous experience of dealing with third party governing authorities e.g. SEPA, HSE, and other comparable external governance/auditing bodies
* Financial management training and experience
* Experience of Anaerobic digestion or a closely related operation
* Knowledge of Malt distillation processes, including co-production (preferred)
