An opportunity is available for two Fitting Training Engineer’s based at the Tipton (West Midlands) and Eakring (Nottingham) Training Centres, on a 12 month secondment basis – subject to review. This role involves working as part of a close team of trainers working across multiple training sites for the delivery of fitting training.
Depending on experience, you may initially be appointed at a lower salary until all relevant courses and training are complete.

Main ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Lead Fitting Training Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
Delivery of training in Fitting skills and other areas as required
Liaison and advice on the development of new techniques and training courses
Assessment of Fitting apprentices and existing Fitting staff
Assurance visits and on site assessment visits
Working with colleagues across the wider STEP team
Completion of accurate course reports and assessments documentation
The Ideal CandidateApplicants should have extensive experience of undertaking Fitting tasks on electricity distribution networks.
The successful applicant must demonstrate the potential to undertake this flexible training role and be able to manage the business, others and themselves.
Appropriate training and development will be given in order to assist the successful applicant to realise their full potential, however, a demonstration of technical and procedures knowledge, together with excellent presentation, skills are essential for the role.
The successful applicant will be expected to study for and successfully complete a suitable professional training qualification. Although the role will be based at Tipton or Eakring, the successful candidate will be required to travel to other sites as required to meet the needs of the business and you will be required to travel throughout the company. A valid driving licence is required.
You will be working with employees of various ages and some who are aged between 16 and 18. NGED have a responsibility to ensure young people are safe within the business and we will require a DBS check to be undertaken by the successful applicant at the Enhanced level.
Interviews will take place on Wednesday 14th January in Tipton.
Short listed candidates will be required to create a training presentation on a given topic, which you will need to present as a part of the interview process.
