Responsibilities and duties
As a Principle Electrical Design Engineer you will:
* Develop, specify, and assess high-quality electrical design packages for infrastructure projects.
* Define reliability and operational requirements for electrical infrastructure systems.
* Evaluate and approve maintenance work control procedures.
* Assess designs, material conditions, and ageing mechanisms to maintain facility operations.
* Promote safety and security as core values in all activities.
* Ensure safety-related contracts meet requirements by acting as an informed and engaged customer.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Strong expertise in electrical engineering, particularly in: HV/MV distribution, LV distribution, Protection systems, Control & Instrumentation (C&I) systems, Electrical machines (e.g., synchronous motors, diesel alternators)
* Ability to deliver innovative and cost-effective design modifications for plant and infrastructure.
Personal skills
The Principle Electrical Design Engineer role would suit someone who has:
* Experience in the defence/nuclear or other high-hazard industries.
* Degree or HNC in a relevant engineering discipline.
* Security Clearance
