Would you like to work as part of a knowledgeable team who are passionate about developing their staff?If so, we are looking to recruit a Trainee Systems Accountant to work in our busy financial systems team based in Malvern.This is a varied role which offers great opportunity for career progression in the future.The role will support the day-to-day operation and on-going development of the financial systems for Malvern Hills District and Worcester City Councils.Following successful completion of the probationary period you will be expected to undertake professional accountancy exam qualifications. Financial support will be provided under the council’s standard training contract.About youThe successful candidate will:Have excellent planning and organisation skills with a systematic and thorough approachProven investigation skills demonstrating a logical approach to problem solving with the ability to analyse processes and identify process improvement opportunitiesGood IT skills including Excel formulas and pivot tables; bank transaction processing; accounting systemsUnderstanding of basic accounting practices, accounting systems and processes and IT infrastructureA high level of numeracy and attention to detailIdeally have experience with system upgrades and installationsUnderstand interfaces between financial systems and other business systemsExperience of working within a finance or similar teamYou will ideally need to have experience working with IT providers and using BAC’s software.You will also ideally have experience using Civica systems (including Financials and Purchasing) and Adelante systems (SmartPay 6 Income Management and Bank Reconciliation).What we can offerOur staff are at the heart of what we do, and as a result we are always looking to recruit, develop and retain the very best talent we can find.
