This role will require applicants to undergo screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and/ or Disclosure Scotland.What you’ll do:Planning and designing menus for all catering needs using the tools provided by SodexoCalculating costs, yield & GP’s in line with budgetary targets.Use of nominated suppliers to place orders.Overseeing operations and leading Catering staff to ensure a smooth service day-to-day.Overseeing the food preparation, cooking, delivery and cleaning processes required every dayEnsuring compliance with hygiene and health and safety regulations – making sure all necessary procedures and paperwork are completed.Liaising with the Catering Manager to ensure operations run smoothlyEnsuring all ingredients are fresh and meet quality standardsProducing a versatile offering that considers demographic needs and trendsEnsuring that allergens are understood by each member of staff inclusive of the entire offering day-to-day.Adhere to all allergen processes and ensure compliance and due diligence requirements are metWhat you bring:EssentialNVQ level 2 Food Production certificate or equivalentIntermediate Food Hygiene certificateStrong level of literacy and numeracyExperienced Chef who has operated in a busy, client facing environmentGood communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to be an effective team playerFlexible, with the ability to work under pressure and across a range of shifts and service timesDirect management experience of chefs / kitchen brigadeClear, strong and effective leadership styleStrong ability to increase individuals’ effectiveness through leadership, motivation, communication, coaching and trainingExcellent time management and organisational skillsAbility to set and maintain standardsWhat we offer:Working with Sodexo is more than a job; it’s a chance to be part of something greater.You’ll belong in a company and team that values you for you; you’ll act with purpose and have an impact through your everyday actions; and you’ll be able to thrive in your own way.
