Location: THE PIG - at Harlyn Bay, Padstow.OTE £13.85 per hour, including tronc.Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week. (Part-Time can be discussed)We are currently recruiting for a Sommelier to join our team at THE PIG - at Harlyn Bay. At THE PIG, our Sommeliers are free from the traditional image of wine service! You will be developing your knowledge of wines whilst working on the floor during our vibrant restaurant service. You will build your knowledge of local and international brands and start to develop relationships with existing and new suppliers. You will also have the opportunity to grow your qualifications by enrolling in various courses and join PIG Sommelier’s for wine team days out, including tastings, vineyard visits and international trips. This role will also include some light bar duties, including closing procedures on the bar.Responsibilities include, but not limited to:Provide a knowledgeable wine service to guests, pairing wines with our food menu.Hone your craft by demonstrating your skills and knowledge across the team. Conduct briefings and team tastings.Ensure wine stock is stored correctly, maintaining a presentable and safe cellar.Excellent communication with both the team and guests, having a caring & considered approach in all that you do.Take an active approach in developing your knowledge of wines & spirits.Fulfilling additional responsibilities assigned by our Head Sommelier.Maintain a clean & tidy bar area, including closing procedures of the bar.Previous experience as a Sommelier or Bartender (with a good knowledge of wine) within a similar environment is required.
