Ganymede are hiring for a fantastic to join an award-winning train operating company, with services operating from London to Essex. Our client is one of the UK's most punctual train operating companies with a commitment to deliver a top-class service to the travelling public

The Role

As the Shift Production Manager, you will be joining a well-known train depot, where you shall hold responsibility for ensuring the operation runs in a safe, reliable and timely manner to ensure the fleet returns to service after engineering work of maintenance, servicing, exams and train cleaning has been completed, on time & expected to schedule. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality to meet ISO 9001 procedures.

The ideal candidate will be detail orientated, numerate, with excellent communication skills both written and verbal. A background in rolling stock is ideal although cross industry candidates will be considered. A solid background on train safety rules & regulations and industry practice is also required.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

* Oversee depot production on a shift basis.
* Coordinating with other departments contracts and organisations to meet service delivery targets
* Ensuring all activity comply with approved schedule in line with ISO 9001standards as outlined in the Quality Manual
* Maintaining accurate record of work, this will include ensuring logs of event and safety related documents are recorded
* Prepare production plans for the train sets across depots
* Develop and motivate the working force, this will include regular team briefings
* Ensure a safe working environment, this will include conducting regular depot inspections and report any accidents, incidents or near miss involving staff
* Manage technical investigations into defects and incidents as required
* Perform On Call First Line response duties on scheduled roster basis
* Provide First Aid or coordinate with other first aiders and emergency service in an event of an incident
* Act as Chief Fire Warden the depot

About You

Ideally, you will have a recognised qualification in mechanical, electrical or systems engineering with excellent experience in managing large train depots and fleet maintenance activities. As the Shift Production Manager, you will need to demonstrate a high level of organisational skill, with ability to plan, schedule and allocate resources effective. You will need to demonstration a high-level decision-making abilities, drawing on rolling stock experience or expertise in similar settings. Excellent written skills are essential for report writing, investigations, and documenting incidents, accidents and projects.
