Situated on the beautiful Moray Coast in the North of Scotland, Gordonstoun is widely recognised as the world leader in Hahnian education. We have a co-educational community of over 500 pupils aged from 4-18, who are both boarding and day pupils, and are drawn from over 40 countries. The Prep School is an exciting and homely place to live and learn; it has c.125 pupils aged 4-13, around a quarter of whom are boarders. It has a wide and varied timetable and enjoys the use of superb modern facilities for sports, the performing arts, outdoor learning and other activities.We are looking for an inspiring classroom practitioner who is keen to play an active role in boarding school life, whether in the classroom, in the mountains or in the middle of the Moray Firth. You will work closely alongside the Head of Prep School and the Assistant Heads Pastoral and Curriculum, ensuring all our pupils are supported and challenged to be the very best version of themselves they can be.The successful candidate must have strong pastoral instincts and have an excellent track record in an educational setting, preferably with children within the 4-13 age range. You will have a positive ‘can do’ attitude, and embrace our school motto ‘Plus Est En Vous’ (there is more in you) in your approach. You will have experience of managing others and/or discrete areas of school life.All candidates should be registered or eligible for registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland, as this is a condition of employment. The post is suitable for an ambitious NQT or Probationer, or a more experienced teacher. **Skills Required**

• Experience of teaching either KS1 or KS2.
• Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in all MS Office applications.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to organise and teach groups of pupils at all levels of ability
• Ability to improve pupil attainment
• Ability to engage and enthuse pupils in their relevant subject
• Cross phase KS1/KS2 or KS2/KS3 experience
• Specific qualifications or skills relating to one or more areas of the broader activity programme such as sports coaching qualifications or outdoor leadership qualifications.
• Experience of providing outdoor learning opportunities
• Conscientious and diligent, with excellent attention to detail.
• Enthusiastic, diplomatic and calm under pressure.
• A proven track record of strong working relationships with pupils and colleagues.
• A positive and proactive attitude to manage a high volume of work.
• Flexible, with a can-do attitude.
• Someone who creates a positive and cooperative working environment.
• A commitment to Gordonstoun’s unique educational ethos.
• A commitment to doing the best for pupils from diverse cultural backgrounds.
• Suitable to work with children
• A full PVG check will be completed on the successful candidate

**Qualifications Required**

• Good first degree
• Postgraduate Certificate in Education or equivalent in primary education
• Meets requirements to register with the GTCS
• Further academic or broader curriculum qualifications
• Already registered with the GTCS
