Astute’s Power team is partnering with a leading Power Company to recruit a Lead Mechanical Engineer for a traveling role around their UK sites.
The Lead Mechanical Engineer role comes with a starting salary of up to �75k plus a benefits package that includes 12% pension, private medical and a car for business needs.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Asset Support & Outage Team Leader you will:
* Working with the site teams on outage, managing a scope of work and ensuring it is completed in a timely manner.
* Managing your own scope of work, this will include working on Mechanical equipment such as Boilers, Turbines, HRSG (Heat Recovery Steam Generators) and associated plant.
* Acting as the technical authority in relation to design standards, codes of practice and legislation.
* The execution of site mechanical projects safely and within budget.
* Developing asset management strategies.
* Identifying areas of improvement across the plant to increase efficiency.
* Ensure maintenance plans and targets for the team are achieved safely, on time and within budget and to the correct quality within the environmental limits of the station.
* Directing and supervising on site contractors.
* Ensuring HSE compliance at all times.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
* Have previous experience in Mechanical maintenance or engineering in a heavy process environment.
* Significant experience working with specific equipment including HRSG / Boiler / Welding
* A Safety qualification such as IOSH / NEBOSH or equivalent
