The Education Entitlement Service (EES) strives to deliver outstanding services for our customers, predominately the children of Coventry, who may be requiring access to education or alternative education provision. We ensure vulnerable children are appropriately supported; have a voice, that hopefully leads to their high achievement and excellent progress.

The EES is made up of a diverse range of teams all working together to recognise, support and apply innovative solutions to address the growing issues in relation to trying to educate some of our most vulnerable pupils in schools. 

The School Organisation Service (Admissions) co-ordinates school admissions  processes.  Team tasks include the:


Administration of all applications for school places
Provision of information for parents, school and other stakeholders; and
Provision of information to support the school appeals process

What is the job role?We are looking for an enthusiastic team player and great communicator to join our service.   

You will be responsible for dealing with applications for school places and school appeals. You will have the ability to understand, interpret and explain complex statutory guidelines to parents, school staff, and other education and social care colleagues.  

The post is fixed term for 12 months and is part time 22.5 hours per week (over 3 or 4 days Tuesday to Friday)    

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
 
Who are we looking for?

You will have strong IT skills, preferably with experience of Capita ONE or similar admissions software. Working with parents and schools in this customer service role you will need:  

    



Good communication and interpersonal skills     


Ability to work in a pressurised environment, meeting deadlines and managing      time effectively.     


A positive approach to teamworking and building great working relationships with colleagues and school staff
