What is the job role?This is a fabulous opportunity to specialise within our  Community Mental Health Teams in Coventry.  We have three specialist posts available which would suit experienced social workers / Approved Mental Health Professionals.

Being well served by extensive road and rail networks, Coventry is easily accessed from most parts of the Country.

You will be supporting people living with a range of mental health challenges including psychosis, mood disorders, and self-harming behaviours.   The Teams are fully multi-disciplinary and embrace strength-based recovery practices, Safeguarding, The Care Act, Mental Health and Mental Capacity Acts.

Post One:           Forensic Mental Health Social Woker

Salary:                £36648 - £49498 dependant on qualifications and experience 

You will work from  Swanswell Point in Coventry and will help deliver a social work service for Coventry people who are subject to restriction orders under the Mental Health Act. This will also include people who live with a mental disorder and are at risk of criminal behaviours. The role will include liaison work with the Police, Probation, The Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements panel, The Ministry of Justice and colleagues across mental health and adult social care services including the regional secure units at Reaside Clinic, The Tamarind Centre and Ardenleigh. 

You will be part of a small team of mental health professionals including psychology and Community Nurses, Social Workers, and Peer Support Workers. You will be joining a newly formed and developing team and have opportunities for specialist training and development.

Post Two:  Social Worker / AMHP - RISE (Children and Adolescent Mental Health Services) Crisis & Home Treatment Team

Salary:          £31364 - £49498 Dependant on qualifications and experience.

Based at Whitestone Clinic in Nuneaton, RISE (CAMHS) is a family of NHS-led services providing emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children and young people. The Crisis & Home Treatment Team within RISE provides timely and urgent assessment and support to young people who are experiencing a mental health crisis.

You will ideally have a background and interest in mental health, and passion and experience working with children and young people.

The role will involve providing a social work perspective in mental health assessments and risk assessments, demonstrating a holistic understanding of mental health and communication skills with children, young people and their families. You will be expected to participate and contribute in the delivery of discharge planning and the implementation of multi-disciplinary plans,  in order to reduce delayed discharges or unnecessary acute and psychiatric hospital stays for children. This will involve liaison with children's social care teams, health teams and other organisations/sectors, and co-ordinating safeguarding processes. You will be expected to have knowledge of the Children's Act 1989, and the Mental Health Act 1983, as well as the associated policies and procedures, including Transforming Care. You will also attend and contribute to team Continual Professional Development training, case discussions and learning, specifically around safeguarding and social care issues.

Post Three: Mental Health Social Worker Autism Pathway

Salary:        £31364 - £49498: dependant on qualifications and   experience.

The Young Adults Autism Intensive Support Team works with individuals between the ages of 18 and 25 with a diagnosed Autism who are at risk of admission to hospital because of secondary mental health challenges. The Team is a multi-disciplinary team, comprising of nursing, occupational therapy, psychology and psychiatry. You will work  with a wide range of professionals from both Coventry and Warwickshire, with specific focus on the Transforming Care Agenda, in addition to working  towards specific interventions embracing the Care Programme Approach, The Care Act, Mental Health and Mental Capacity Acts.

You will be based at Paybody Clinic on Stoney Stanton Road in Coventry.       

For all posts, we operate a flexible / hybrid working week and you will be office based at least 2 days a week.
