We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Youth Development Worker to join our vibrant and committed team in various exciting locations across East London, including Barking & Dagenham, Havering, and Redbridge.
As a Youth Development Worker, you will mentor and support young people in schools and on estates, helping those on the edge of school exclusion, facing mental health issues, or serious youth violence. You will conduct 1-2-1 sessions, after-school activities, and holiday programmes, fostering a safer and more positive youth community. Your role will also involve building strong relationships with parents, schools, and the community while ensuring all activities meet our high standards and values.
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week, including evenings and occasional weekends and residentials
Youth Development Worker Requirements:
* Experience working with young people at risk of school exclusion or serious youth violence or those with borderline or undiagnosed mental health issues
* Degree level qualification in Youth Work or equivalent
* Minimum Level 3 youth work qualification with Level 2 in English and Maths
* Ability to develop relationships within secondary schools
* Excellent communication skills and ability to manage young people in various settings
