The post holder will work as part of the Social Work Academy (SWA) Management group and will be responsible for the development of social workers associated with the SWA in accordance with the Assessed Supported Year in Employment (ASYE), Professional Capabilities Framework (PCFs), Post Qualifying standards (PQS) and Continued Professional Development (CPD) arrangements and they will contribute to the SWA objectives.

What will you be doing?You will join the team and be responsible for supporting Northamptonshire Children’s Trust (NCT) Newly Qualified Social Workers (NSQW’s) who have been successful at interview in getting an NQSW post. You will also be involved in a ‘bespoke’ training/programme delivery within the academy and have opportunities to support and develop the wider workforce and beyond. You need to be a qualified Social Worker with experience of working within Children’s and/or Adult Services and are required to be a Level 2 Practice Educator or Level 1 working towards level 2.

While working with our NQSW’s you will support them with their 12 month Assessed and Supported Year of Employment (ASYE) portfolio, undertaking activities including reviews, individual supervision, reflective supervision, providing training within the Academy, conducting developmental work with NQSW’s, complete observations of practice, verify finalised portfolio’s, support NCT’s learning and development team with training deliver, complete Collaborative Reflective Practice Discussion’s (CRPD), have opportunities to complete pieces of work within the wider workforce or with partner agencies and play an active role within the Academy Management Team.

About youWe are looking for an enthusiastic individual committed to developing Social Worker practice in NCT to join the SWA team as Social Work Academy, Advance Practitioner (SWA, AP).

You will be based at One Angel Square, Northampton but will be required to travel around the county and be flexible in working from all offices as well working from home. You will have excellent organisational skills and be expected to work closely with your SWA and Learning and Development colleagues as well as the NCT wider workforce.
