Astute’s Renewables team is exclusively partnering with an electric vehicle (EV) charge point installer and independent connection provider (ICP) who have a large order book and diverse client base around the UK. We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer to create designs for new electrical infrastructure projects, based in Glasgow.
The Senior Design Engineer comes with a salary up to �55,000, car allowance, bonus, excellent company benefits and hybrid working with requirement to attend office 3 days a week.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Design Manager you will:
* Lead the technical team in implementing company-wide strategies, policies, processes, procedures, and risk management.
* Be accountable for scheme design, consultancy, and feasibility studies, as well as technical standards, regulatory affairs, and associated legal processes.
* Provide guidance and leadership to Design Engineers and Graduate Engineers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality work.
* Foster strong relationships with clients, asset owners, partners, and designers.
* Streamline processes to reduce turnaround times between contract award and scheme handover.
* Guarantee that all designs meet regulatory, statutory, client, and industry requirements to deliver projects of the highest standard.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Electrical Engineering degree or equivalent.
* Experience designing OHL, underground cables, or substation infrastructure in the past 5 years.
* Relevant UK experience with DNO, IDNO OR ICP is essential.
Personal skills
The Senior Design Engineer role would suit someone who is:
* Experience leading a team would be beneficial.
* Full UK Driving license.
Salary and benefits of the Senior Design Engineer role
* Salary of �48,000 - �55,000 (depending on experience).
* Car allowance & bonus.
* Monday – Friday 8.00 – 17.00.
* Hybrid working, 3 days from office.
