Working in the Accounts Office, the post-holder will complete a wide range of financial and administrative tasks, essential for the efficient daily operation of St Leonards School. Attention to detail is crucial for this role as the Accounts Assistant will help to ensure that accurate financial records are completed in a timely manner, whilst supporting the day-to-day operations of the finance team. As the role will involve utilising various accounting software packages as well as Microsoft Office and Google Suite, the candidate will need to be proficient in IT and able to work with the various software platforms. Main Areas of Responsibility:Processing purchase invoices, including coding and posting to the nominal ledger;Updating and maintaining the purchase ledger supplier accounts to ensure accuracy;Monthly reconciliation of purchase ledger to creditors control account;Reconciling supplier statements to balances on purchase ledger;Dealing with incoming calls and emails regarding purchase invoices and associated issues;Termly school fee and recharge invoices, under direction from the School Accountant;Recording, processing and reconciliation of pupil registration fees and deposits;Analysing invoices relating to amounts to be recharged to pupils;Providing general support and guidance to assist and to cover for other Finance Office Staff;Further details and particulars of the role can be found in the candidate pack.Benefits include:Up to 50% remission on school fees per child38 days (pro-rata) annual leavePension SchemeFree lunches in school restaurant in term timeCycle to work schemeAbout St LeonardsSt Leonards is a friendly and forward-looking independent, coeducational, boarding and day school situated on an historic campus at the heart of the university town of St Andrews.
