The Children’s Advice and Support Service (CASS) is Birmingham Childrens Trust’s fast- paced front door service. We receive child protection and wellbeing referrals and then review and progress these concerns in order to protect/support children in a timely manner. CASS receives a significant number of referrals daily. The service receives approximately 250 calls and 500 emails/referrals every day.The Process Manager plays a key role in leading the CASS Operations Team to deliver practice support services across CASS Social Work and Early Help processes. It is essential that candidates have significant experience of managing the operational functions of a front line multi agency child centred service, in addition to experience of working with families using a child centred approach. The successful candidate will provide operational leadership, vision, and direction within CASS through maintaining daily, consistent, timely, high quality operational service support and delivering required continuous improvement within the service. The postholder is also required to manage on going demands coming from different sources whilst demonstrating an ability to search for alternative solutions to improve processes. The Process Manager is responsible for the CASS Operations Team currently consisting of 4 Team Leaders and circa 30 Referral and Advice Officers. This role will ensure that work is consistency processed through CASS daily without delay, optimising organisational processes and prioritising essential tasks. The postholder is required to generate monthly service statistics, which enables demand management, resource planning. Monitoring/auditing and evaluating different aspects of s
ervice is also a key task. The postholder will be required to work with partner agencies in CASS/MASH to communicate operational changes, complete joint initiatives to meet common aims and improve front door services.Candidates must demonstrate a significant level of professional confidence, underpinned by practice experience and learning and have a proven track record of successfully managing change, service improvement and risk management. You will be required to have experience and skills in building and maintaining effective relationships with colleagues, external agencies, children, and their families. You will be ‘results focused’ and take a personal responsibility for delivering on performance objectives, delivering a high-quality service and taking forward new initiatives. You must be resilient, manage pressure effectively and be able to take control in difficult situations. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills and the ability to work with others to solve problems. It is essential to have good knowledge of the different thresholds within Right Help Right Time and the various pathways of support for children, young people and their Families.
