Drupal 8/9 Frontend Web Developer

We are looking for a Drupal Frontend Web Developer join our team of talented and experienced engineers. You will work in our team to build exciting, feature-rich websites for corporate clients worldwide. You will use your frontend development skills to accurately translate wireframes and design mock-ups into well-organised front-end sites, roll out multi-lingual features and have autonomy in choosing the right modules and libraries for the job. You will typically work in small teams using Kanban workflow, using the development environment and tooling that best helps you work effectively.

What will happen when I join?

- You will be personally welcomed by our department heads and your line manager, and given plenty of chance to ask questions
- You will be onboarded into your team and work closely with fellow developers to ensure you have the best experience possible
- Once onboarded, you will work with other Drupal experts and test analysts on a steady flow of new websites for large, prestigious clients, ranging from a few weeks to a few months in duration


What will be my day-to-day responsibilities?

The successful candidate:

- Designs, codes, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors moderately complex programs/scripts.
- Applies agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered result.
- Monitors and reports on progress. Identifies issues related to software development activities. Proposes practical solutions to resolve issues.
- Collaborates in reviews of work with others as appropriate.
- Designs test cases, creates test scripts and test data, and automates repeatable tasks working to the requirements or specifications provided.
- Defines test conditions for given requirements.
- Executes and records manual and automated testing in accordance with test plans.
- Analyses and reports on test activities, results, issues and risks.


What skills and experience do I need?

We expect you to have broad technical experience in web development and knowledge of modern JavaScript, HTML and CSS. You will know the optimization techniques and tooling required to deliver markup and assets for speed, cleanliness and accessibility. You will know how to craft mobile-first responsive sites for a range of devices, browsers and platforms. Proficiency in Drupal 8/9 layout and theming is essential. Any knowledge of Jira and GitHub will be useful, as you'll use them in your daily work.

You will work with teammates who have a bias towards backend development and will need the experience to decide if and when work items should be distributed between skillsets.

As well as working on new projects, you will be expected to understand and contribute to existing codebases and have the competencies in managing the risks in order to do so.

You will have the skills required to provide honest, accurate estimates from small work items to medium-sized projects, negotiating effectively with teammates and management.

We do not ask for any special degrees or certifications to be considered for this position. We are more interested in the passion, perspective, and expertise that you bring to the role - whether it was learned in the classroom or you are self-taught.
